Stepparent Adoptions

          Under Ohio law, stepparents may adopt the children of their spouse if certain conditions are met. One of those conditions is that the stepparent must be married to the birth parent for a minimum of 6 months before the adoption can be finalized. Your wedding date is the start of the adoptive placement.
